I'm Captain Rob Kolb, a U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain and Coast Guard Auxiliary member with over 30 years of real-world experience on the Great Lakes and Caribbean. My mission is simple: to help boaters move from uncertainty and stress to calm, confident decision-making on the water.

Over the years I've watched good boaters struggle with the same things over and over, not because they weren't capable, but because nobody ever gave them the right tools, the right information, or the right training. That's exactly why I built everything you'll find here.

Most boaters check a normal weather forecast before heading out, temperature and chance of rain, and stop there. Most don't even know they should be checking a marine forecast instead. I built DockWise because I got tired of watching good boaters get rattled at the dock.
